[stamp] THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF THE UNITED STATES

Having furnish 'nt One hundrend and dolls and [?] Men in the First Second & Third Mayh Regiments when in this city with cash and Merchantized to the amount of their pay; Being 2196 Dollars; Chiefly all for the months of May, June & July; A copy of which is to go in the hands of their Paymasters; Mr. Egteston, Mr. Danforth, and Mr. Neilson; Chiefly all accepted, by their pay motions; I should Esteem it a particular favor if Mr. Pierce will favor me with a Line by Return of Port and anguish me whether any moneys have been granted by the State of Massachusetts for pay for their Troops; and if so if you mention me to theit payments ties; your Aquainting me what way would be the best for me to pursue in this Particularword say me under an obligation--
