Sir I have received your letter of the 10th inst the Cannon powder wanted is on hand of a superior proof to what you mention. undoubtedly the same will answer well for muskets. It can be obtained only by an order from the Secretary of War or Saml Hodgdon Esqr Intendent of Stores
