Received March 19 1799 of William Simmons Accountant a Warrant
[undecipherable] 3796 issued by the Secretary of War in my favor for Two thousand
Dollars, to be deposited in the Branch Bank of Boston Massachusetts
subject to the orders of Benjamin Goodhue; which said sum is to be
paid by him to Edward Norris, Jonathan Waldo, Amos Hovey, Benjamin
Ward Junr, and Jonathan Lambert, Selectmen of Salem Massachusetts
on account of the fortifications at that place, for which sum the
said Selectmen to be accountable.
