Williams encloses an extract of a letter from Kentucky. He is uncertain if or when his letter will reach its desitation. Williams is on his way home and hopes to see the recipient in October.
Wilkinson writes regarding a conflict between two officers. It is apparently rooted in a frivolous matter, but the men refused Wilkinson's officer to act as mediator.
Mr. Davis has declined the appointment of joint commissioner with Wilkinson and Hawkins to treat with the Indians south of the Ohio. Andrew Pickens is appointed as his replacement.
Simmons has received the sundry bounty receipts Lewis sent and filed them with others. They will be examined and Lewis' recruiting account will be settled.
