Sir
A statement of musket stocks
delivered at Philadelphia to contractors for supplying muskets
was furnished by the late Superintendent of Miilitary Stores
commencing on the 22nd November 1798 & ending 31st
May 1800 which on examination is found incorrect
in several instances, not embracing all the stocks
acknowledged to have been received by the parties.
It is therefore necessary that a more correct statement
should be furnished which shall include all the
stocks delivered up to this time. You are accordingly
requested to furnish me with such statement as
early as convenient to enable me to check
the accounts of these Contractors.
I am Sir
Very Respectfully
Your mo obt servt
