Annapolis May 13. 1785
Dear Howell
I did not receive your letter until this
moment and the post goes in less than 10 Minutes, I can
only say therefore I will give a full answer to you
next week, in the meantime the State of Maryland
has taken no notice of Certificates Issued for debts due
by the United States. Jno. White

I am sensible you have left nothing
untried that was in your power respecting Waters
A/c__It is blended somehow in such a manner tat
it must remain doubtful at present but no error can
take place You know for whether he has, or has not recd.
