Your account on the Books of this Office is charged with the sum of Twelve thousand seven hundred & fourteen dollars 66/100, having been advanced you from the Treasury Department on accot. of a contract for supplying Iron Ball & Kentledge. As the period as long since expired in which those articles were to have been completed by you, and a necessity consequently exists for an immediate attention to the settlement of your accounts I have to request that you will forward without delay to the office a statement showing the amount supplied, and supported by such document as the nature of the contract call for.
