Requested that Hamilton refrain from writing any more on politics. Wolcott certain that if Jefferson was elected, Marshall would retire due to difference in opinion. Pamphlet McHenry sent to Wolcott was not written by General L., and is a forgery. Wolcott announced his resignation.
