Sir
I have the honor to transmit to you, the Voucher for payments made to Samuel Meredith Esqr - Wharton & Lewis - For drafts drawn by Genl Stevens - For the Cargo of the George Washington & expences thereon - For piling timber - And for payment of the Crew and or accot of the brig Sophia, with a Sketch of the whole, stating all the sums received by me on those accounts, and shewing a ballance in my favor of $12,162 50/100 - I have however since the stating of the accot received for debentures on the George Washington Cargo $1968 98/100 at further sum of $5149 59/100 will be receivable from the same source between this & the 7th day of July next, the particulars of which I will send you. I sold the Sophias provisions for 194 drs - but on examination some of it appearing damaged, the purchaser returned it, and I have now put it into the hands of a Cooper, to be made the best of - I have also sold the ammunition belonging to her for $182 38/100 for which I have received a check payable the 15th of next month -
Insurance has been effected on the George Washingtons Cargo in New York for $15,000 and in this place for $69,250 making in the whole $84,250 @ 5 p[er]cent premium, the expence of which,
