Description
Simmons notified Butler statement sent to Office by the Pay Master Chandler was erroneous due to discovered receipts. Butler was overpaid for pay subsistance and forage for July-September 1799. Butler owed the United States a balance of $888.51 which Simmons requested be refunded. Alternately, Butlers pay could be suspended by Mr. Henley.
