Knoxville February 5th 1800
Sir
I wrote you the 28th January that I was going to So. W Point to attend the Funeral Solemnities of the late General Georg Washington, which is defered to the 22d of this month in Consequence of the Orders of Major General Pickering. I am [illegbile] satisfied at being at this place just now as the six teams loaded on Public account must be near, and detained probably by a very deep snow that has fallen within a few days, And it is probable they will want my assistance to get them on, the roads being almost impassable.
I now enclose you the returns for the Month of January, of Qr Masters Stores issued.
I am with great respect Your Humble Servant

David Henley
The honorable James McHenry
