Pittsburg 3rd January 1800
Sir,
I have this moment received your favour of the 27th
ult.o accompanied by two letters which go forward by this days mail
I expect by next post to transmit a Return up to the end of the year - together with a part of the papers formerly required - Those respecting the Commifsary department. I feel particularly anxious to have settled but for that purpose Vouchers of [unsure] at Marietta - I have not yet been able to obtain - the [unsure] for that post was given in charge of M. Joseph Buel recommended by Colo Sproat who commouded - but whom I have not yet been able to bring to a settlement but shortly expect to effect it as well as the provisions at Beaver Block house-
On Wednesday next the Decease of General George Washington is to b^ commemorated with military honor + all other due respect by the Citizens of Pittsburg and its neighbourhood.
The Monongahela is now shut up with ice.
