Sir
The Treasurer of the United States will remit you the sum of one hundred eighty two Dollars & 24/100, which you will please to pay to Ebenezer Stevens Agent for the Dept. of War, at New York, being to reimburse him for a like sum paid to sundry Artificers belonging to the Detachment of the 2 Regt. of Artills. & Engrs, under the command of Lieut. Nath. Leonard, for the difference of pay between Artificers & Privates from 1 April to 30 June 1799
