Sir
I wrote to you under date of the 7th Jany & 8 May last, requesting you to forward an Accts Currnt stating the monies you received + expended while acting as P.M. to the Garrison of Niagara, that I might ascertain what monies remained in your hands unexpended, & thereby be enabled to decide what further sums were necessary to complete the pay of the Troops in that quarter, and altho those letters were particularly pointed on the subject no answer nor compliance has ever yet taken place. I have therefore again to repeat my request that you will lose no time in forwarding such a Statement up to the 1st of the present month, that I may be informed of the true State of the monies in your hands. I am led to be this urgent in consequence of complaints having been made relative to the great arrearages due the Troops there, and hope to be relieved from the anxiety by a speedy transmission of your accounts.
