Reports that Taylor has acted like a gentleman. Hopes that the canal is progressing. Relays plans for extensive, expensive operation, having purchased land near the Schuylkill for a laboratory, magazine, barracks, workshop, and arsenal. Reports that Philadelphia is remarkably healthy.
