Description

Responding to a request from the Secretary of War, this is a presentation of US revenues: duties, imports, and finances from 1795-1798. It discusses debt: interest and the proposed payment. It includes a list of expenditures: diplomatic expenses, military pensions, light house estimates, annuities and grants, treaties with the Barbary Pirates, Indian expenses, military and naval establishments. It discusses plans to recoup the money by obtaining more loans and a proposed treaty with Great Britain.
