Sirs
The Duplicate Invoice from Tellico, of Buchannan's two Loads Pettries, and other papers, I have received from you Sir this morning.
It has struck me more than once, since we have learned authenticly the fate of poor Hamilton, whether it would not be for the Interest of the United States, to send out some confidential person to meet the Waggons, and to guard against any misconduct of Buchannon, which is well known, what may be the result of his conduct, when he learns of Hamiltons exit, (In my opinion) should be guarded against as much as possible, excuse this freedom Sir, in hinting any think to you of the kind, full well convinced of your far superior foresight in such matters as those, than what I can be possessed of, and should I have erred, I can assure you it proceeded from zeal towards the Factory
