Arms and Stores Claimed by the State of Maryland, Etc.

Despite his efforts, Bedinger has been unable to locate the arms and stores claimed by the State of Maryland. Without Major Langham's assistance he cannot differentiate between Maryland's articles and those belonging to the United States. Major Langham is expected soon so the matter should be resolved upon his return.

fortunately this happened to be standing by me, three persons of respectability, who saw me take it out of the mail and open it in their presence

on reading the paragraph where you say "enclosed you have a post note for on hundred dollars, to reimburse you, the sum advanced the balance shall be forwarded as soon as the vouchers come to hand and inform me the amount"

I stopped, communicated that part and requested them to take particular notice that there was no enclosed bank note or any other thing

the waggons employed in the transportation of the forts have not yet returned, when they do, I will forward Major Craigs receipts together with such other vouchers as will be required to obtain payment
