Your account of payments made to Col John Carlisles Regiment (Maryland Militia) for their Services in the Western expedition in 1794 has been examined & amount per statement herewith enclosed to 6371 41/100.
You charge in your account current for payment & [List no?] The actual amount is only --- Difference to which add this sum charged for retained rations due the Regiment per Certificate No. 3. being inadmissable & is herewith returned so that there is still remaining in your hands the sum of Dr one hundred eighty three Dollars & seventeen cents which you pleased as early as possible to refund to the Treasurer of the United in order to exonorate you from the advances you received from Nevile per the hands of Captn Swearinger for the above purpose.
With respect of any further compensation I have [showing?] (as you have already received the full amount contemplated by law) no additional sum can be allowed
