In the absence of the Accountant I have to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 6th January last enclosing the receipts of the Spies of Jefferson County which have undergone examination, and have been found free of error, the amount will accordingly be placed to your credit on the Books of this office, conformably to the enclosed copy of an account current stated in this office.
