Your letter of the 14th of Octo’r 1797 has been red’d
I have had the Sum of two thousand dollars forwarded to be deposited in the Branch Bank of Charleston, subject to your Bills and Orders on account of the expenses of ascertaining and marking the Boundary Line between the United States and the Cherokee Indians: for which Sum you are to be charged and hold accountable.
