Sir
I have received your letter of the 28th ultimo I feel, uneasy for the state of the Boat that has been forwarded with the Stores. I hope to have a good account of her in your next. Capt. Miller well knows the reasons that his Company were not fully supplied with Clothing. In the first place they were not in Store, and in the next, he now ordered to march as light as possible, that the Detachment might, not be detained on the road,. As soon as a full supply of clothing is secured a quantity will be sent to you as usual to meet such calls. The Secretary of War's report relative to the Army, has been read in Congress, and committed, but not yet published. Great alterations are contemplated
