Description

Sundry receipts for bounty paid recruits received. Several receipts taken in the name of Ensign Crutchfield, possibility they were for advances of money, Simmons warned that hereafter all advances made without express orders from the War Department will be held to Claiborne's account and he should be on his guard. Simmons requested future transmission of receipts be accompanied by a list of names and sums.
