Dear Sir,
I have been favored with your private letter of the 10th inst and thank you for the same. Continue your inquiries, whenever it can be done with propriety. It may, untimately be of moment.
I hope the recruiting service goes on with flattering prospects. My best respects to General White, and Mr. Bray.
The Polish General Kosciuszko arrived here last evening, in the Ship Adriana, from Bristol. He was saluted by Major Tousand as he passed by Fort Mifflin, with a discharge of fifteen 10 pounders; and the barge of the frigate U. S. manned with Masters of vessels, waited upon him, as soon as the ship anchored and took him to shore.
