Sirs I have taken the Liberty of offering myself to you for an appointment as Surgeon or Surgeon's Mate, being unknown to you I have thought it most adviseable that some of the Medical gentlemen should also Write to you - I have Read Medicine for 4-years and have attended one course of lectures at the University of Pennsylvania, if Sirs you should think the Recommendations that you will Receive when you Receive this are Sufficient, with Due Respect [undecipherable] to the frigate Constellation Humbe StHenry Wells
