Reports Annual Examination of Public Store and Damaged Leather

Description

Has just commenced the annual examination of public stores. The leather has been too long neglected, but he will do what he can to brush the cartouche boxes, shoes, valises. Will also air out all the tents. Requests money for these purposes. Has not heard about the untended arsenal. The late Secretary of War told him that because public business was sparse, he could do private business. Discusses wages. Anxious to repair whatever is necessary.
