The peace made with the Indians North West
of the Ohio, and the universal quiet on our frontiers, renders
it unnecessary to keep up any militia Guards or Scouts;
you will therefore be pleased to discharge immediately
those employed under your direction, and transmit to
this office the necessary documents for a final settlement
of their compensations__
