Langham has been out collecting cavalry arms and accoutrements and sought to save money by hiring a cart. However, the cart was inadequate for such a long journey so he was forced to hire a wagon. He will not be able to gather all the stores due to the negligence of some of the officers whose names will be given to the War Department.
