Your letter of the 27th ultimo enclosing eight hundred and eighty five dollars and forty cents is come to hand together with the packet of news papers.
Several large accounts lately & rather unexpectedly coming forward on discharging the Militia Cavalry rendered it necessary for me, on the second instant to draw on you in favour of William Chruly for two thousand dollars at eight days sight which please to pay and charge as usual.
Col: O'Hara and Col: Neville set off for your City on Sunday next.
In the course of transacting the business of the Quarter Master Department I have paid a number of the Quarter Master General's drafts from Head Quarters by which and other accounts abalance is now against him & in my favour for upwards of seven thousand dollars for which he has directed me to draw on you for which he will settle with you on his arrival
