Description
Letter from Simmons and Mr. Hagner received. Money for contingent and incidental expenses received and forwarded to Col. Fish. Repairs to Fort Putnam expected to by made shortly to secure repairs made last year. The purchase of materials and labor at lowest possible price has hurt Col. Tossard in his ability to fulfill tasks. Powder magazines and artillery stores to be made as soon as possible. Current method of keeping books is complicated and Fleming requested guidance from the Secretary of War on a more efficient way to keep books.
