Title

Accountability in the Use of Timber

Description

Hodgdon has specified that all timber received at the Navy Yard must be accounted for by specific measurement. William Herbert, who is foreman of the yard and temporary constructor of the frigate, asserts that his only responsiblity is to eliminate bad timber but Shore disagrees, arguing that Herbert must also be accountable for the amount of timber used. Perhaps a steward in the yard could assist in maintaining accountability.
