Description
Perkins announces the safe arrival of himself and his family and comments on the state of the armory at New London. It appears that the smith shop and stores have not been furnished and little has been done toward the repairing of arms except the breaking up of some old Dutch muskets. The arms are in such a state that an accurate return cannot be made until the repairs are completed.

Dear Sir
I have the Pleasure of informing you that I arrved here on the 22 inst with my little Famouley all Safe & well. my wife at first coming Seemed very much dissatisfyed with the Place But begins to be Better satisfied with it. wee have had the satisfaction [undecipherable] with out aney meterall damage. I found everything here nearly in the same State as I left them. But Coln Callay is now very busey in geting the Smiths Shop & Stoor finished with very little hath been [done?] to wards the repairs of the arms Since I left them except Breaking up a number of old dutch musketts and weighing & takeing an account of all the Stoors as you will see by the return. The arms at Present are in Such a State that it would be dificultt to make a Just return of them untill they are finished which I hope will be in the Present month. the People have all left Mr Cleaton. & have got Bording for them selves at difrent Places their have [undecipherable] against him [undecipherable] much [undecipherable] that Dunwich had moor Pay than them Selvs. & Said they would quit the busness if they were not made equal with him & as I am Sensable they deserv as much I Promised you would give them the Same. I have desired Major Holt to request you to Pay Mr John Harper 50 dollars on my account
in doing which you will much oblige me it will be due on the first of next month.
