Secretary Hamilton writes William Ellery, Collector of Newport, Rhode Island, informing him that the Treasurer has been directed to remit to him the sum of $2,500, on account of the fortifications being erected there. The payment will be made via a bank draft transferring the money from the Bank of Providence.
