Description
The Commissioner of the Revenue informs Secretary Hamilton that little reliance is to be placed upon a cheap or certain supply of gun powder within the United States. Coxe was unable to procure a contract for the 300 tons that Hamilton authorized him to attempt; also informs Hamilton that Tench Francis was unable to procure the 93 tons of salt petre.
