Extracts from Secy of War to Gen Wayne.
June 21 1794- "appearances on the upper parts of the Ohio has induced a temporary suspension of about 100 recruits in that quarter. Major P. Butler is ordered to take the command at Pittsburg."
July 11. 1794. "Your distance from the seat of government, and the energies that may be required at the moment have induced the measure of confiding to you every power necefsarily connected with the situation, process, recuriting, supply and succefs of the force under you command"

Dec.5 1794. "I enclose a sear of that part of my region not under your imediate descretion." statement aluded to.
