Pittsburgh 10th January 1794
Sir
I have Received your letter of this Instant together with a Packet addressed to Major General Wayne, and several letters for Officers with the Army, all of which shall be forwarded in Charge of Major Cass, who intends to embark on the 12th together with Captain Cooks Detachment, the River being Clear of Ice and as the weather continues favourable there is a prospect of safe Passage to Fort Washington.
Captain Crawford is expected in a few Days from Head Quarters.
A Return of Quarter Master and Ordnance Stores and Cloathing up to the end of last Year, is herewith inclosed an Abstract of Disbursements is nearly compleated and shall be sent together with the Vouchers by next Post.
I am sending forward a Quantity of Whiskey in Charge of Major Cass, addressed to the Quarter Master at Fort Washington.
The Quarter Master General will Shortly set off for Philadelphia, and I'm in hopes of having my business so arranged as to be able to accompany him.
