Pittsburgh 18th October 1793 -
Dear Sir,
By this days Post I have only a few lines from Mr Audebut Acknowledging the Receipt of my last Letter to the Secretary of War, and Informing me of the continuation of that destructive disease in Your city.
Richard Carsons Brother Arrived Yesterday with his loading in good Order, bars on Accounts for the delay, by his Brother being taken ill on his Arrival at Harrisburgh, with his Waggon, and that no other Driver could be Obtained.
In my Letter of the 11th Instant & Earnestly Requested you to Enable me to support the House of the Department by a Remittance, I have no Reason to doubt your disposition for that purpose, and shall therefore hope you have succeeded, but should it be Otherwise, I shall Certainly be Under a Necessity of of Drawing on You in favor of some Gentlemen at Buffaloe, who agreeable to Contract with the Quarter Master General, have furnished and delivered a large Quantity of forage, the amount of the Drafts will be, One thousand and seven hundred and fifty Dollarts -
