In obedience to an Order received from the Secretary of War, which is on these words - Capt "The Secretary of War requests that you will send One hundred and ten suits of Infantry Clothing complete to PIttsburgh to be put in charge of Major Craig and issued to the Troops which are or may be stationed at Fort Franklin, Pittsburg, Big Beaver, Wheeling and the Mon directed to Man the Boats which ply between Pittsburg and Fort Washington. Please to proportion the Clothing for eight Serjeants two Music and One hundred Privates" I say in obedience to this order I have this day sent forward by Valentine Pancake - the first part of the Clothing contained in Hogshead No 32, Box No 33 and hogshead No 34 the
the particular contents of each you will find in the Invoice which he takes with him. Hogshead No 23 in the same Invoice contains every particle of Clothing ordered and for the Cavalry except Nine Coats and Nine Vests, which with a complete invoice of the whole will be sent to you shortly. Box No. 35 contains two hundred and fifty Cartouche Boxes being the first parcel of a New and complete supply intended for the Army. 14 Pigs of lead, One large horsemans tent and ten Common ones, is the whole of Pancakes load all of which I hope will go safely and speedily to hand.
