Title

Treaty Talks as Delaying Action; Desire for Offensive to Capture Supplies

Description

Wayne continues to believe that the treaty talks are simply the means by which the Indians and British seek to procrastinate until the military situation is most favorable to their interests. He believes that his Army is ready for the campaign but continues to lament the lack of supplies. He argues that a campaign against the location of Indian stores should be taken immediately so as to capture them for American use.

should they have the temerity to engage us I trust that they will have no cause to triumph from the encounter for altho our numbers are few, there appears a strong anxiety for an interview and a pleasing confidence of victory from the Generals down to the private soldier
