Pittsburgh 24th May 1793
Your letter of the 17th Instant, I have just Received, I shall attend to your Instruction Respecting Indian Goods, addressed to General St. Claire
Boats shall be in Readiness for the Recruits on their Arrival at this Post and no delay shall be occassioned here on my part.
The Quarter Master General at his Departure from Legion Ville, told me he should write me from Wheeling & enclose me Instructions to enable me to draw on Samuel Hodgdon Esqr. for occassional supplys of Money but as the Army proceeded from Legion Vill to Galliopolas without halting, and there only a few hours, he has not had an opportunity - and as the Whole of the Money, lately Remitted for him by Mr. Hodgdon, viz twenty four thousand dollars - has been sent forward in Charge of Major Hughes & Lieut Bond, I am under the necessity Requesting that an immediate supply of Cash be sent on untill the Quarter Master General may have an opportunity of Makeing a Remittance from Head Quarters. Several large deposits for Forage, Boats &c [illegible] other Charges, [illegible] the payment of [illegible]
[illegible] Mr. Williams Wilson writes from [illegible] on the 20th, says he was then setting off for [?anptanton Town, on his way to Buffaloe Creek, accompanied by [One?] agent - the Seneca Interpreter and two Indians, he also says that new Anow [illegible] that the Treaty will not Commence till the [illegible] and that the Seneca are going by Land to Sandusky and all appear very Friendly.
