Description
A preliminary report which highlights the details of the commissioner's travel and accommodations prior to movement to the treaty site at Sandusky. Accommodations are scant; commissioners are lodging at Navy Hall, opposite Niagara with British host Lieutenant Governor of Upper Canada John Graves Simcoe. General Lincoln has yet to arrive. Talks to be delayed about a month [Treaty negotiations were planned to begin 1 June]. Captain Brant set off with Mohawks westward 5 May to attend preparatory council of the western Indians at the rapids of Miami [Maumee].
