Requests Supplies, Advance for Indians; Reports Difficulties; Requests Opinion
Description
O'Hara refers to providing for the Indians on their way to Philadelphia, settling with the artificers. Shall endeavor to have less payments made in account to the people employed in the department in the future [illegible] to Deputies and Commissaries cannot be avoided. Refers to former letter whereby O'Hara hoped that he would not have to call for further supply of arms before spring. Nonetheless will request advance from Secretary of War principally owing to the expenditures at Fort Washington being greater. Discusses organization of Quarter Master Department and responsibilities. Discusses purchasing and invoicing; regulations for distribution of public property. Asks for Hodgdon's opinion on matters. Nothing of consequence to report from the camp at Legion Ville. The commander in chief [presumably General Anthony Wayne] has not be from the camp since the legion got on the ground.
