notable phrase
They did not disperse within an hour as the proclamation required but determined in the evening that they would, and on the morning of the 29th, actually did and returned to their respective homes. It is a justice due these people to inform Your Excellency that the greater part of them appeared to have assembled upon a mistaken zeal to serve their country, not foreseeing the consequences that would attend such conduct.
