Stagg writes that the Secretary of War requests that Hodgdon ship the following items to Boston, addressed to Stephen Bruce and marked for Captain Jonathan Cass of Exeter New Hampshire: 50 suits of clothing for infantry, including sergeant and music suits; 50 stands of arms and accoutrements; 50 knapsacks; 3 Sergeant's swords; 50 canteens; camp kettles. Note remarks that there's a vessel bound for Boston lying at Pine Street Wharf.

The Secretary of War requests, that you will please to have packed up, and shipped for Boston, addressed to Wm: Stephen Bruce of that place, the following article; which are to be marked for Captain Jonathan Cass, Exeter, New Hampshire - To wit -
Fifty Suits of uniform clothing for infantry, complete, including three serjeants, & two music's suits.
Fifty Stands of Arms & Accoutrements; all complete -
Fifty Knapsacks - Three Serjeants Swords -
Fifty Canteens - & a proportion of Camp Kettles.
