Sir
I have just received your favors of the 24 26 ["th" above 26] and 27 Ultimo
The accounts for Scouts for the years 1790 and 1791 shall be exa:mined and paid.
I rejoice in the escape of Colonel Hardin and thank your----Excellency for its communication which is the first I have heard of it.
I have not received Governor Blounts official report which he has sent by his Secretary M. Allison-but I have received a short letter from him in which he seems apprehensive of some Banditti Creeks and Cherokees.
The conference at Nashville was entirely satisfactory as it respected the Chickasaws and Choctaws-the latter of whom were not nu:merous.
The King of France was suspendedwas suspended about the 10 of August The Marquis De Fayette was previously acquitted by a Majority of four hundred to a minority of Two hundred-so say the English newspapers
Newspapers just brought to town and which arrived on the 30 Ultimo ^ at New York by a vessel from England in thirty days.
I have the honor to be with great esteem your Excellencys most obed. Servant
