Smith expresses pleasure at hearing from Mr Harris that Hodgdon has arrived safely at Pittsburg. Hodgdon's successor as Quartermaster General of the Army (though not without many fears) has yet to arrive at Fort Washington. Discusses arrival of corn; losses great due to multitude of rats. Discusses 1500 acre tract of land lying in fork of little Miami River; asks Hodgdon to inquire about it and send information on title, price, boundaries via the next post.
