Description
Hopkins has received a Treasury draft for $1300 and bank notes in the amount of $3545.53 for the purpose of reimbursing the state of Virginia for advances made to the militia. The same has been offered to the Tresurer who refuses to take them. The bank notes will be exchanged for cash and the whole paid to the Treasurer. Hopkins will be Philadelphia in May and will obtain receipts if he can obtain specie for the notes so as to make the payment.
