Barr is going to Philadelphia soon and asks Hodgdon to give him whatever news he has on the operation of the coming campaign. He wants to be on his way out of Lexington early so as to be ready for the campaign. He expects to have a large quantity of goods on hand, perhaps the largest in the district.

Dear Sir
I have to inform you, that I received yours off the 21st Ultimo, informing of Col Darke Departure who Has been here, and has gave me a letter to H Knox a Copy of which I send you, for years in [undecipherable] he likewise assures me that he will do all he can in our favr personally as soon as he arrives at the Board of war, I will thank you for a Letter to H Knox on the Subject and for you to Say all you can in our favr Likewise say where the arm, and if any past of them is Disposd off
I have sett a time for my departure for Philada to leave the crab Orchard the 18th March pray let me have your letter with your other Commands by that time could wish you could make it commencement to go in then, if you dont go, will be much obligd to you to give me any news you may be in possession off as to the Operation of the oncoming Campaign that you may Judge prudent to give;---As this overal buisness
