Title

Peace With the Indians, Etc.

Description

Since the failure of Mr. Steel's motion for the reduction of the Army it can be expected that vacancies will soon be filled up. Bradshaw asks Hodgdon to mention his name to General Knox before appointments are made. There have been no accounts at Pittsburgh of Indian movements since Adair's defeat. Those acquainted with Indian affairs say that there can be no peace with them on terms other than the absolute cession of the whole Northwest Territory.
