Description
Since Hodgdon has been sent a considerable sum in gold to pay the troops he will need a pair of scales and weights to pay it out by the penny weight. He must have a pair he can depend on and they must be as portable as possible while still being accurate. He must have a double supply of weights as he will be exposed and may break a single set by losing part of it.
